ŠIBENIK – (15 minutes by car) The town of Šibenik, with approximately 46,000 inhabitants, is located in Sibenik-Knin County, only about 15 kilometres from Vodice. Not far from the town flows the Krka River, an impressive river that is best known for its Krka National Park.

Sibenik is especially known for its charming old town without cars, which was built uphill and with more than 2,800 steps is also known as the city of steps. Among the most important attractions of Sibenik are the Cathedral of St. James and the 4 fortresses of the Venetian defence system, which have even been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
