SPLIT – (1 hour and 15 minutes by car) Split, the largest city in Dalmatia and the second largest in Croatia (after Zagreb), is a typical Mediterranean city with a small-town atmosphere, noisy streets and relaxed locals. Split was a port, an industrial city and in the last decade it has turned into one of the hottest destinations in Croatia. The historic old town of Split, housed in the palace of Emperor Diocletian, dates back to Roman times. It is a living museum and the place where you will find most of the must-see sights.
